2006 gets underway

2006 is now well and truly underway. John has been to South Africa and returned and now he's in New York. It will come as no surprise to those who know him to hear that he went straight from the airport to the office on his return from SA. When he got back from work that evening, he pretty much unpacked and repacked for his trip to NY, leaving the house at 5am to make his flight. He gets back on Friday night and will no doubt need the weekend to recover.

I'll leave it to him to tell you about his time in SA himself.

At the end of the month, our cell group is multiplying and John and I will be leading the new group. We're a bit nervous about it, having had it relatively easy as assistant leaders for some time. It's also going to mean quite a time commitment for us, and we're already pretty busy people, but it needs to be done. The church continues to grow. When we joined, we could fit into the building relatively comfortably. Since then, we have planted out two new churches in other parts of the town and we have to meet in the local high school sports hall because our building in New Bradwell is too small. Last week we had a meeting in New Bradwell and even with the Sunday School, the creche and the younger teens out of the room it was a squeeze.
